Vitamix 5300 vs E320: Comparison disclosed

Blending food at home has never been easier and without a blender, it’s almost difficult to make blends manually. Choosing the right blender to place on your next budget shopping is as good as knowing what you are expecting. Hoping that you plan to buy either the E320 or 5300, but not sure about the difference in the specification.

Well, it’s a good thing to know that Vitamix 5300 has proven to be the most successful blender in its class. The Vitamix 5300 C-series features a powerful motor at the heart of its machine and is considered by many to be the best blender in its category.

In addition to having a strong motor, it also offers a huge specification. On the other hand, the E320 Explorian series does offer some advantages over the Vitamix 5300 in terms of power. This model also comes with a wider variety of attachments.

I’ve tested both models side by side to see which is faster and more powerful. Based on the tests, the Vitamix 5300 wins hands down. Its blades rotate at over 30,000 RPM, creating higher speeds and greater power. With its lower price tag, the Vitamix E320 is no match. But that doesn’t rule out the fact that the E320 is not also a powerful blender.

Regardless of which type of blender you need, the kind you buy depends on your budget and cooking habits. I’ve made a very detailed review which includes the differences and similarities of these models, hoping you already will have come to a conclusion of which Vitamix model is best for you after going through my rearview. Here’s my comparison of the Vitamix 5300 vs E320.

Motor & Base

They have the same motor base. The Vitamix 5300 and E320 2.2HP motor consumes less power energy and it’s capable of blasting tough ingredients such as frozen fruits to make smoothies and thick blends. The less energy consumption of the motors is a result of their quality build. Both the Vitamix E320 and 5300 have built-in radial cooling fans and thermal sensors to help prevent overheating.

Going deeper into testing both blenders, I found out the Vitamix E320 Comes with roughly 1.93 horsepower which is slightly higher than the 5300. The 5300 motors are finalized to be a 1.85 horsepower capacity. Leaving the E320 to be on the higher edge. In this case, the Vitamix E320 wins the upper hand for its better and higher 1.93 horsepower motor as against the Vitamix 5300 1.85 HP motor.

Container Size (Pitcher)

Even though both blenders have the same container capacity, the design of the Jar is different from one another. The E320 and 5300 have the same Jar capacity which is enough to make blends for large households. The E320 comes with a 64-Ounce Low profile container, it’s taller and thinner, with a height of 18 inches. likewise the 5300 Low-profile 64-ounce container, but has a wider base and is shorter (17.25 inches). They are both BPA-free Tritan containers. The BPA-free containers make them risk-free and safe to use for storing foods.

Also, the 5300 with a wider, but shorter base makes it easier to store your blender inside a cabinet, whereas the E320 with a taller and thinner base makes it better stored on a countertop.

Blades material

The 5300 and E320 blades have the same quality materials builds. They are made of laser-cut stainless steel materials. Even at that, the design of these blades is different. The Vitamix 5300 blades are longer in diameter than the E320 because of their wider container. On the other hand, the E320 blades are shorter than the 5300 because of their thinner Jar. In Vitamix 5300, the blades have a diameter of 4 inches in size, whereas, within Vitamix E320, the blades have a diameter of 3 inches. Both Blender hardened stainless steel blades are designed to fit into individual containers.

Control settings

The E320 and 5300 Vitamix blenders equally come with the same control features. The control settings include a variable speed dial and a pulse button. The E320 has a 10-speed level dial, likewise the 5300. The variable speed knob gives you the ability to choose speed settings ranging from level 1 to 10, making consistent results from smooth purees to thick soups a possible one to achieve.

Aside from the 10 Count speed levels, the Vitamix 5300 and E320 also have a pulse function. The pulse button allows you to pulse and switch to a higher speed for you to achieve the desired texture quickly. However, none of these two models has a timer or smart features.

Attachments (Extras)

They both come with the same attachment, the 5300 and E320 attachments include a Tamper stick, Recipe book and a User manual. Also, the E320 has a cord length of 4.5 feet, whereas the 5300’s cord length is a rough 6 feet. With the Vitamix 5300 longer cord, you can easily connect your machine to the power supply

Ease of use & Cleaning

Both the Vitamix 5300 and the E320 have a self-cleaning function. To clean up your blender after use, all you are expected to do is to fill up the pitcher with warm water and drop into the jar a dishwasher soap, turn on the blender and allow the blades to spin at the lowest speed level and gradually increase until the machine is cleaned. it takes around 60 seconds or more to get your blender cleaned up after use.

Weight

The Vitamix E320 is a bit taller and with a thinner jar than the 5300. On the other hand, the 5300 is shorter and with a wider jar compared to the E320. Added to that, the 5300 is slightly heavier than the E320.

Warranty & Cost

Both models come with a lengthy warranty. Although, the E320 offers a longer warranty as opposed to the 5300 with a shorter warranty. The Explorian E320 offers a 7-year full warranty, while the Vitamix Classic 5300 offers 5 years warranty. These models are not to be considered cheap blenders, but they are affordable to get. Unlike the high-end blenders on the market with an expensive price tag, taking a deep look at the cost of getting either of these blenders, I realized the E310 cost less than the 5300.

Verdict:

The 5300 is for those looking for an affordable, yet quiet blender to make batches of meals. The E320 is the best choice for those looking for a cheap, yet stronger and lightweight blender to invest in.

This depends on what you want to do with your Vitamix. If you’re looking for speed or high output – go with the E320. This model will give you the most output per watt consumed.
